I take a straight forward approach to product management. I look at the numbers and more importantly listen to the people with hands-on keyboards and those who are closest to the project. Project management is about managing risk and setting expectations. I find that those doing the work can provide the best insight in how to do that.

When managing a portfolio of work across the enterprise you need to do so with an analytical eye and the decisiveness to make hard decessions. That said you need to be humble and open to others' ideas for the overall portfolio to be successful.
I continually look to coach my team members up and out of every role that they take on. I like to believe that I lead my teams and our peers by example while sharing my lessons learned so they can grow.
